Thorpe Park

Rien de bien révolutionnaire, même s'il y a quelques changements en perspective: ma période d'essai se termine demain, on va voir s'ils me gardent ;-)! Passage de ceinture de karaté la semaine prochaine. Et quelques photos à ajouter: Thorpe Park, un parc d'attractions. La chose blanche au milieu (horizontale, j'arrive toujours pas à la mettre dans l'autre sens, si quelqu'un s'y connait...) s'appelle Stealth. J'ai décidé de l'éviter à 10h du matin et me suis retrouvée dessus à 15h... C'est la vie ;-)!

No groundbreaking news, but a few changes: my probationary period ends tomorrow, we'll see if they keep me or not ;-)! Karate grading next week. And 2 pictures I haven't posted yet, from Thorpe Park, a rollercoaster park. The white thingie (horizontal, still haven't figured how to rotate it! If anyone knows...) is called Stealth. I decided I wouldn't ride it at 10am, and ended up on it at 3pm... C'est la vie ;-)!!!

Un peu tard, mais voilà les photos de Portsmouth, d'il y a un mois... Portsmouth est au bord de la Manche et c'est là que se trouve le HMS Victory, le bateau de Nelson pendant la bataille de Trafalgar.

A bit late, but here are the pictures of Portsmouth, one month ago... Portsmouth is a maritime city on the Channel, and is home to the HMS Victory, Nelson's ship at Trafalgar.

On commence avec le HMS Warrior, un bateau du 19e siècle amarré pas loin du HMS Victory.
We start the visit with the HMS Warrior, a 19th century ship docked close to the HMS Victory.



Et voilà le HMS Victory lui-même... Construit entre 1759 et 1765, avant de connaître son heure de gloire en 1805 à la bataille de Trafalgar.

And the HMS Victory herself... Built between 1759 and 1765, and brought to fame in 1805 at the battle of Trafalgar.

Hampton Court

Voilà quelques photos de ma visite d'Hampton Court d'il y a 3-4 semaines.
C'est un palais qui a accueilli plusieurs rois d'Angleterre depuis le 14e siècle, en particulier Henry VIII (celui qui a achevé 5 épouses sur 6...).

Here are a few pictures of my visit at Hampton Court, 3-4 weeks ago. It's a palace where a few English kings dwelt since the 14th century, in particular Henry the VIII (the one who got rid of 5 wives out of 6...).

Juste un petit compte-rendu d'un jour heureux: reçu deux notes de dissert de master (plus que deux qui manquent) et satisfaite avec le résultat, mon banquier a accepté ma demande de vrai compte en banque donc je vais avoir une vraie carte de crédit comme une grande, un de mes chefs était satisfait de mon travail aujourd'hui (j'ai pas souvent de commentaires, donc youpi!), mes Zimmetbrötchen sont réussis, demain parc d'attraction et match France-Angleterre, et après-demain visite de château... Et deux Anglais ont admis que la France a plus chances de gagner le match de rugby de demain soir que l'Angleterre, et non, ils n'avaient pas de revolver sur la tempe ;-)!
Bref, y'a des jours comme ça :-)...

Just a summary of a happy day: got the results for 2 essays and I'm satisfied with the result (only 2 grades left and I'll have everything), my banker accepted to upgrade my bank account, so I'll get a real Visacard for grown-ups, one of my bosses was happy with my work (and I don't get feedback that often, so yeepee!), my cinammon slices (my Granny's recipe) turned out fine, tomorrow roller coaster park and France-England game, the day after tomorrow castle-visiting... And two Englishmen admitted that France has got more chances of winning tomorrow's game than England, and no, I wasn't pointing a gun at their heads ;-)!
Days like this do exist :-)...

Ca fait un moment que je n'ai plus rien posté! Bref, résumé de nouveau: festival indien il y a 3 semaines, Portsmouth le week-end dernier, le tout parsemé de Shakespeare et des Monty Pythons. Ah, et j'ai rendu mon mémoire et ma carte d'étudiant a expiré, donc l'insouciance étudiante devrait disparaître bientôt ;-)! Et je viens de finir 2 semaines de formation, avec des cours/séminaires/ateliers sur la recherche de marché, une journée sur le terrain avec un interviewer à domicile et une journée bénévolat à piocher et réduire de la craie en poussière dans une réserve naturelle... Ah, et je suis censée organiser la soirée de Noël du karaté. En ce moment, je contacte les pubs et bars de Londres pour trouver un endroit qui veuille bien nous accueillir... Ca va comme excuses pour avoir 50 emails de retard ;-)???

Haven't posted anything in a while! Summary again: Indian festival 3 weeks ago, Portsmouth last week-end, with a dash of Shakespeare and the Monty Pythons. And I submitted my dissertation, and my student I.D. expired yesterday, so time to say farewell to student life! Just finished 2 weeks of training, with lots of classes/seminars/workshops on market research, one day on the field shadowing a face-to-face interviewer and a team-building day on a natural reservation, digging with a peak axe and pouncing chalk... And I'm supposed to organise the karate club's Christmas party. So I'm contacting pubs and bars in London to find a venue... Is the above enough to justify having 50 unanswered emails in my mailbox ;-)???
