Donc, comme prévu, voilà un compte-rendu de la visite de Greenwich!
Greenwich est à l'ouest de Londres, et le plus simple pour y aller est le DLR (Docklands Light Railway, c'est quelque chose comme un métro aérien). Une fois sur place, il y a pas mal de choses à voir: le musée maritime, le bord de la Tamise, le collège naval royal et bien sûr le méridien de Greenwich.

So here's the account of the visit of Greenwich! It's in West London, and the easiest way to get there is the DLR (Docklands Light Railway). There are quite a few things to see there, including the Maritime Museum, the Thames, the Old Royal Naval College, and of course, the Greenwich Meridian.

















Le musée est chouette, avec tous les aspects de la mer, depuis Christophe Colomb jusqu'aux bateaux de croisières.

That's the Museum, which deals with all aspects of the sea, from Colombus to Transatlantic cuisers.

Le méridien fait partie d'un ensemble, avec un observatoire, des expositions sur l'astronomie et le temps, une lunette astronomique géante...

The Meridian is part of a complex with an observatory, exhibitions about astronomy and time, and a big telescope...

Là, c'est la "boule horaire" de Greenwich, qui monte puis redescend chaque jour à 13h pour indiquer l'heure exacte.

That's the observatory time ball, which goes up and down everyday at 1pm to give the accurate time.
























Et voilà le collège naval, avec une patinoire au milieu...

That's the Old Royal Naval College, with an ice rink in the middle!

Et voilà la vue depuis l'Observatoire. Le centre-ville sur la gauche et le fameux 'Dome' sur la droite. Le grand bâtiment en bas étant le Musée maritime...

And that's the panorama from the observatory. The city is on the left, the (in?)famous Dome on the right, and the white building downhill is the Maritime Museum.
